Motorola Dual. Charging dock + two bluetooth headsets.
Dual aims to replace wired headphones and make the overall experience for the user easier and more enjoyable. The Motorola Dual was a personal projected created during my internship with Motorola Mobility in Chicago, Illinois.
Various forms for both the headsets and the docks were designed and prototyped. The taller more narrow form was chosen for the final direction. The narrow form is easier to use and also allows users to more easily fit the device in their pocket.
The Motorola Dual is a device composed of two Bluetooth headsets and one charging dock. The goal is to replace the need for both headphones and a Bluetooth headset. The user can listen to music or podcasts with both ear pieces, or use just one. For extended periods of use, the case doubles as a portable charging dock.
Charge the headsets and dock all at the same time with a single mini USB cable. The headsets can be completely re-charged while resting in the dock.
Leave the dock at home and go for the ultra portable route. The two headsets can magnetically snap together when not in use. Both headsets have touch sensitive volume controls on the outside along with a power button near the ear piece.
